4th of July 5K has gone VIRTUAL

Celebrating the 4th of July with our annual 5K road race is one of our favorite events, but keeping the health and safety of our community is our top priority, so we’re going VIRTUAL! The best part is that you can run your own 5K anywhere, letting you support the parks, trails, and recreational programming even if you’re not able to be in Big Sky this summer.

Run a 5K of your choice anytime between June 17th – July 4th. Have fun with it — jog with strollers, bring your dogs, run laps in your backyard, wear costumes, especially on the 4th of July! Race registration is $25 and includes a pair of BSCO ankle socks, perfect for running, biking, hiking, and showing the world you support what makes Big Sky so special. When you’re done, upload your time (instructions will be e-mailed to you upon registration) and see how you fared against your friends or friendly rivals. If you’re in Big Sky and looking for ideas of a 5K route to run, click here to check out our Big Sky Community Outdoor Challenge facebook group.

Socks will be ordered after registration closes on July 4th, and will be mailed out to anyone who can’t pick them up at our office at 32 Town Center Avenue (next to Rhinestone Cowgirl) in Big Sky, MT after August 3rd.  If running isn’t your thing, sign up to be a Phantom Runner to show your support and still get the swag!

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us all to make some changes in our daily lives.  What hasn’t changed is our commitment to managing and caring for all of our parks, trails, and the community center project, in addition to providing year-round programming to support the physical and mental well-being of our community. By participating in this virtual race, YOU are helping to make that happen.  THANK YOU!
