Celebration the 4th of July with our annual 5k road race is one of our favorite events!  We went virtual last year in the interest of protecting the health and safely of our community, be we are back this year with a few modifications for safety.

We will hold our in-person race starting at 8:30 am in the Big Sky Community Park as we have in years past, but will not have an awards ceremony and will offer staggered starts to ensure social distancing.  Or if you prefer, you can run it as a virtual race.  Follow the 5k race route in Big Sky on your own time or run your own 5k anywhere, letting you support the parks, trails, and recreational programming even if you’re not able to be in Big Sky this summer.  Have fun with your run – jog with strollers, bring your dogs, run laps in your backyard, wear a fun costume.  When you’re done, upload your time (instructions will be e-mailed to you upon registration) and see how you fared against your friends and friendly rivals.

In order to avoid congestion at the registration table on race day, plan to pick up your race packet on Thursday, July 1st or Friday, July 2nd between noon – 4pm at the BSCO office.  BSCO office is located at 32 Town Center Avenue next to Rhinestone Cowgirl and across the street from ACRE.  First 200 registered to be guaranteed a race t-shirt.  Register NOW to guarantee your size! 

The pandemic has forced us to make some changes in our daily lives.  What hasn’t changed is our commitment to managing and caring for all of our parks, trails, and BASE, in addition to providing year-round programming to support the physical and mental well-being of our community.  By participating in this race – either virtually, in-person or as a phantom runner – YOU are helping to that happen.  THANK YOU!
